A website and app to help address challenges with Ghana's National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS). Some of the problems we want to address are: NHIS card holders sometimes goes to NHIS accredited health facility and are told their sickness is not covered under the NHIS or they are told this or that medicine is not covered under the NHIS, majority of the people do not know what sicknesses or medicines are covered under the NHIS, my proposed app should make this information available to the all and address other problems with National Health Insurance Scheme. Solutions; The Proposed app and website will be accessible to clients of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) The app should provide information to users on medicines that are covered under the NHIS. The app should provide information to users on sicknesses that are covered under the NHIS The app should provide Location, Contact information on NHIS accredited Hospitals, Clinics and Pharmacies, base on a clients geographical Locations The app should remind clients when their annual subscription is about to expire Users should have the option to renew their annual subscription via the app using MTN Mobile Money/ Airtel Money / Tigo Cash / visa/MasterCard/ other mobile payment systems. Users could send complaint/comments about any NHIS accredited Hospital/Clinic or Pharmacy directly to the National Health Insurance Authority via the app. The app should remind users of the number of visits left in a particular month. Advantages: Ghanaians will have more confidence in the NHIS if they have more information on the scheme. It will reduce embezzlement by staffs at the various mutual health insurance schemes, NHIS clients can easily renew their annual subscription anywhere at any time using any phone or on the internet eliminating time spent going to a mutual health insurance office and time spent in queues waiting to pay. NHIS accredited health facilities will be more proactive, knowing that NHIS clients have access to more information.
